Title: Steve Irwin dies
Post by: watsonboyd on September 04, 2006, 03:20:19 PM
This great man was impalied through the chest by a stingray in northen Queensland this morning.

The work that he has done for the Australian wildlife and infact wildlife all over the globe is far and beyond the call of duty.

He was a great Australian, ambassodor and just a bloody good bloke.

Rest in peace

.........................

yeah this is truly a great loss and the trouble is it still hasn't sunk in. This man died doing what he was passionate about and it has made me think that how many of us even get the chance to do what we are passionate about. After all we go to work to a job we either hate or like but are we passionate about it. Sorry to get philisophical guys but just what has been going  through my head since I found out. The tragic part is he was that same man in real life that we all saw on tele. I was at the park the day he was filming the cassowary segment actually standin beside him and he was a classic. Mate you will be missed by millions around the globe. And correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't today the 9th anniversary of lady di's death.

Today we Queenslanders lost a great man. He was a great Australian icon who will be missed by many. He leaves behind wife Terri, daughter Bindi and son Bob. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

A truly heart breaking day.
Steve Irwin was a great bloke, great father, and the work he did for wildlife and environmental conservation will not be forgotten.

Rest In Peace Steve, at least you went doing what you loved.

What a freaky way to go in the end, of all things a freak accident like that.

Bloody shame.

When first news broke, nothing was confirmed, I was hopeful he was going to be ok.  I did not want to have any part of believing he was gone.

I still don't.  It is very sad indeed.....

I thank all of you for your warm comments, it is great to see that everyone can come together for such a tradgic circumstance like this....

Steve will be missed by all.

Thanks for that clear up there new it was close though. But this has made me think about how short life really is and I'm in a job that I don't enjoy so I think it is time to put my passion and dream into actions and go the extra yard and make this fish breeding more of a goer. I have been wanting to do this since I was 5 years old and it has been my one passion in life besides my family. So I am now pulling my head out of my backside and breed breed breed more fish.

Steve will be sadly missed, my son who is only seven watched the show they had on steve last night and was very upset and realised that he is gone and he'll never see him again at Australia Zoo.
He watched steve's documentaries on DVD every weekend and just loved him, so he wrote a letter to Terri and Family to say how sorry he was for there lost. I thought that was great of him.

R.I.P Croc Hunter you'll be sadly missed.
