Title: Chromacolour??
Post by: Lamby on September 14, 2006, 08:13:14 AM
I have some flakes "with Chromacolor".  I have heard various reports that this stuff makes fish sterile and may be unhealthy for them

can anyone help me with any info/past-experiences.  Before i give the stuff to the fish i'd like to be convinced about it.

Thanks

Col

can't remember where i heard it.  but it sounds like there is some association with chromium.......which as you probably know is linked with lots of poisoning diseases in contaminated human food.

i have not used it myself but a mate uses it all the time and his fish pump out the fry.
is this similar to white crane cause that can skrew your fish up.

G'Day lamby,
The HBH flake is very good food & the Chromocolour is a name that is applied to the ingredients that are contained in the product. They are claimed to be all natural & I use the HBH flake all the time & my fish have never been healthier & my Angelfish spawn every two weeks & yes they are very fertile as  the vast majority of the eggs hatch.
I think the problem with the White Crane was that the food contained high levels of homones that boosted the fishes colour, unfortunatley the the side effects of the homones was in some cases sterile fish.
