If I get some lava rock from Redcliffe, how would I treat it for an aquarium? (especially knowing they used to pump raw sewage into the bay from there, about 15 yrs ago)
In the past I've boiled all my rocks (like granite for example), prior to placing them in any aquarium, just to sterilise any nasties residing on the rock.
Wouldn't lava rock, being more porous, possibly dissolve to some extent if I boiled it?
