Title: Cichlasoma/Vieja synspilum?
Post by: Muttley on October 09, 2006, 11:46:40 PM
Just wondering if Cichlasoma/Vieja synspilum (red headed cichlids) are very common up here?  Are they popular? Anybody keep them?

Thanks

You wouldnt want to start breeding them.

I heard they were good breeders with huge amounts of fry, but I am no longer interested in them.

Exactly. You cant sell the fry, so there is no point on having hundreds or maybe thousands in each spawn.

Red Devil Aquarium in the Aerodrome estate in caboolture has small synspillums for about 10 bucks each. Not many left when I got mine but nice colours and very energetic fish. round about 10 - 12 cms.
