Hi all
Long time reader, first time poster!
I am having some trouble with my Angels. The largest of a group of 4 is constantly harassing the 2nd biggest.
It has gotten to the point where I am sure he will kill it. I removed the harassed fish, into a temporary home tonight.
Any advice on what I can do (If anything) to stop this behavior? I am worried he may now start on the other 2.
Thanks,
Conway
How big are the angels, and what size is the tank?
The tank is a 3' x 18" x 18" - 180 litre.
The largest Angel doing the bulling is about 8-9cm from nose to tail. The one being harassed was about 7-8cm and the smaller 2 were around 5-6cm.
Angels must be one of the harder fish to size! Not often a fish is taller then it is long.
Apart from some Bristlenose there are no other fish in the tank. It is lightly planted with 5-6 small Amazon Swords and a few Anubis.
Ok with angles
The male will pick out a girl he likes
and when the female execpts him
Thay will both chase away any other girls
So the other fish might be a sub girl or boy
Girls usaly have a strait 4 head and the boys have a bump
Well other people have diffrent iders on picking sexes
So Good luck you might have to find a perment place for the other guy

Thanks for the advice. I can see a bump on the head of the largest fish (The bully).
Now that I removed the fish getting picked on, one of the other smaller Angels is getting picked on! I thought that might happen!
The only free tanks I have where I can move the 2 bullied Angels into is a 2' x 12" x 15". I think this is to small for 1 large and 1 medium Angel? What do you guys think?
I might have to get rid of one if that tank is to small. Anyone want a huge bully of an Angel!!? :P
Thanks,
Conway
An exciting update!
I removed the 2nd fish getting bullied just before. I was inspecting the tank afterwards. And I found the reason why these 2 were picking on the others! The leaves of one of the Swords was covered with babies!
Looks like you were right Andrew, these 2 are a pair and were chasing the other 2 away from there plant/eggs/fry!
How cool! They are weird looking little things. I was freaked out when I saw one of them swallow some fry and spit them back onto the leaf! I have never breed anything other then Rainbowfish so this is all new to me.
Any tips/advice on how to raise the fry would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Conway

But I think u can get some of that paist fry food or u can use a good flake
And mix it will a little tank water in to a paist and try that
