It appears someone has hacked into Dfishkeepers QCF account and disabled it .... I received this email from him asking me to post and advise fellow members of this ....

It's rather simple.
I see Doug was Banned from another forum. He also had threats from them. It appears that they have retrived his password for that site AND if it is the same as this site and another sitey they could have easily disabled his account.
Doug, I suggest if this is the case, you ask the MODS to digg up any IP addresses that have logged into your account. You can do they same on another site.
Given, that you sell/buy/breed fish, I suggest you report this to the cybercrime officers (QLD and/or FEDS).

Ok everyone settle down, dont bother calling the feds as they cant/wont/will not do anything, I know exactly who is responsible, but whats the point of saying it, short of flying down there and breaking there legs (over a fish forum i dont think so) there is not alot we can do.
Im looking into it today, and should get the accounts it sorted, Good chance that what mitch said is true, if everyone uses the same passwords all over the place then it could have happened that way, I suspect it was more of a case of them getting a mods account and doing it that way.
Either way they arnt exactly hackers, this is probably the most insecure forum software you can get, and its common knowledge on howto get in, but that has never really concerned us as we talk about fish and aquariums, not national security.
Ill give you an update.

Technically yes, but it aint easy, all passwords are encrypted using a MD5 hash, this is a secure password storage system. But it can be broken using a dictionary attach. Which basically just encrypted every combination of letters and numbers and matches it against the hash. when they match you will have it, this can take several days to do though.
2-3 hours if you pick a weak password.
I hope Captain Fudgepak doesn't use my password on here to discredit my good name.... :D

I'm finally back on line (thanks Grum). All my previous posts, pms, breeders register listing etc have disappeared so it may take me some time to get back up to speed. I read Grums post above, and I have used the same password on some other forums, including the one I was recently banned from, so that is possibly what was used to delete me here. Take note and be careful when using other forums.
As Grum said, we know who it was, and we already knew he was a wanker, this action only proved it, as well as showing what a sneaky little coward he is. I have always believed the best way to deal with cowardly bullies is to bring their actions into the open. I have advised the owner of the other Qld forum where my account was also deleted, of the identity of the person I believe may have hacked into his site, and I have consulted a solicitor who now has the original email I received. If there are any further unwarranted disruptions of any kind to my life from this person, he will find himself in court as well as having his full name (kindly provided at the bottom of the email he sent me) plastered all over every national and international forum I can find, and anywhere else I can think of (I have been in this hobby a very long time and have an awful lot of friends in the hobby and the industry). Hopefully he is smart enough to go back to his own little empire and leave us alone on QCF in future.

Yea unfortunatly it has happened, I know I have made threats in the past, which anyone in the know, knows its pretty easy to do, I never thought anyone would be dumb enough or petty enough to do it.

This has confirmed it, I'm pulling out of that forum for sure now. I guess I'm lucky the same loser didn't hack into my account for a few choice posts I made recently about their facist (and somewhat bizarre) approach to the running that forum.
Don't worry guys and gals, that site I predict won't last long. They're their own worst enemy!
