Post by: Ulysses048 on November 04, 2006, 09:13:33 PM
Woo hoo - decided to breed some new species - and now have heaps of Eureka Red fry with four more females holding .... sulphur crested lithobates have mouthfuls ... and the new Tropheops Red Cheeks that I purchased from the Gold Coast auction (thanks Phil)  - and did not think were mature enough for breeding now have mouthful - at around 4cm !!!!!!!
Must be the water around here ?????

Yes those Red Cheeks seem to breed easily.
The colony we have at my dad's place - makes for a great 3ft display tank - actually gets neglected a bit with a water change every 4-6 weeks maybe. We have 1 male and 4 females in there, lots of rocks and a couple pieces of ag pipe, and fed on veggie flake mostly.
My dad doesn't even throw in any buffer of any form.

But they still breed no probs. :D
