Title: Emergency cod dieing
Post by: m-codrule on December 09, 2006, 09:47:29 PM
HI there i was wondering if any1 has any ideas on wat 2 do?

I came home 2day and the water seemed a little warm but not to hot (Itwas 41 in Adelaide 2day) and found my cod lying upsidedown and swimming on its side. there are no signs of whitespot or finrot that i can see. i have cooled the water down and done a 40% water change.

Thanks Karl

Good idea to check temp, as temp goes up disolved O2 decreases and ammonia becomes more toxic.

If for whatever reason water quality is a little off the increase in temp is usually enough to start causing probs!!!

Yay hes fine now :D it was that water had heated up too much and the oxygen levels had dropped drastically.
