Title: Please help with I.D
Post by: wombat on December 18, 2006, 09:26:16 PM
I have a pair of what I believe to be Lombardi's, My partner dis-agrees. I bought them from the LFS as Lombardis's. Could anyone please offer some knowledge to end this feud.

I would of said yes the top one is a lombardi but I have them and the girls are blue with no egg spots on the tail so i dont know what that one is. the bottom one could be a boy but I am not sure. My boy took a bit to colour up nice and yellow. Here is a pic of one of my girls. The boy looks like her but yellow with 1 egg spot on his tail

Iwould actually say the top one is a zebra species the head shape seems wrong for lombardoi and as the females are blue it has too many egg spots. Without beaing able to see the head structure the bottom one is a  male lombardoi as it is starting to go yellow.

Thats a great looking lombardi mate, got any for sale?

We don't think ours are lombardis either, I don't even think they are a pair, probably a Zeb and maybe a female johanni? Can't be sure. They are both nice fish so we have kept them in the display tank.
