In my display 4x2x1.5 ft I have 3 plecs, 1 common 15cm, and two golds about 8-9cm. Now before I had them, I had a reasonable amount ( not out of control ) of algea for the fish to graze on growing on the back and two side walls and logs etc Within two days I think they mowed it down to the nice new looking tank it once was. They now have no natural algea to munch on but they get there share of mysis shrimp and pellets.I usually alternate like, mysis one night, pellets the next nite, colour food next nite etc and Every 3rd - 4th day I give em a strip of uncooked washed zuchinni and they love it, they have a large log they seem to like ''chewing'' on but with that diet, would that be enough to satisfy em?, oh I also drop a coupla algea pellets in every so often. They seem happy and healthy, wot do you feed your plecs? Cheers<

Here is a trick for you<
>Get the outer green leaves of a letuce wash them then boil them for a few seconds then roll them in  balls then freeze them <
>And you can just throw 1 in when you think they need a change

As a
eeder of B\N, Plecs and many of the rarer catties over the past 30 years it still amuses me why so many people "think" that lettuce and cucumber and such is good for your fish.<
><
>Read the following nutritional values on lettuce, then tell me why you would want to feed your fish NIL nutrition? I have ponds full of Pleccie poops if that''s what you desire to produce! as lettuce leaf will not produce anything but!.<

>Blend the beef heart, fish extender & seaweed for 15 secs, then add the protein meals squish all together then feed to fish.<
><
>This recipe is 1\10th of the cost of feeding commercially made prepared foods.<
><
>Basically it means that you need to feed protein for fish to grow, common sense obviously, most of us would of learnt this at school in science!<
