Photo Competition

Ok its finally arrived, but its arrived in style.

Rules: 1 photo per member per competition, At this stage it will be held bi-monthly so don't worry if you take 2 award winning photos, you can win 2 times.

The first one will run until the end of January, with the prize being drawn at the end of February. So you have just over a month to get your photo in, Email all photo entries to "accounts@qldcichlid.com" (yes we do read it)

You will notice the new "Gallery" in the menu, this contains only one sample image, but will give you an idea of the layout and voting.

Who judges the pics?
Any fish display or cichlids only?
Are you saying it take 30 days to judge?

Did you have a look at the gallery?

At the end of January all the photos will be put in there, At which point the members vote for the following 30 days, Every user can vote once on each picture.

At the end of the 30 days there will be a public chart showing the different scores and the winner. Its a photo competition so anything is fair game as long as it is relavant to the hobby. Not your fishing trip pics or your dog playing in the mud though.

are there any special requirements regarding pics

ie, pixel size , format etc

Not really just email them all through, Ill reformat them so they are all the same size and format.

i sent you a photo how do we know that you recieved them

well you could have asked for a reply in the email, Ill assume i recieved them all, You will recieve a failure to deliver notice if it fails anyway.

Ok becuase of the lack of entrys im going to start the voting on the 20th and we will see how long it runs for. I can tell when most users have viewed and or voted, so there is no point running it for a month if every active user has voted after 10 days.


Although it will be posted here to give every entry a fair go. Im abit disappointed really, i know most people have the ability to take photos, and this is a pretty good prize.

Anyway get those entrys in by friday.
