AC 500/300 users

Can anyone tell me how far these filters protrude into the tank?

Do you mean the hang on back AquaClear 500 & 300's ?

What distance do you mean by "protrude into the tank" ?

Make sure you buy it from Ben at Age of Aquariums, don't get it wet, if the unit doesn't fit or isn't suitable he's nice enough to take it back no questions asked.

they hang on the back and the front part pokes into the water like a ramp for the water to run back in through, there's also the intake pipe. How far from the edge of the tank to the part of the filter that is furtherest into the tank. I dont want to get one sent out only to have to post it back or drive up there.

mate i have an aqua clear 500
and from theoutside of the glass to the furthest point its pretty close to 40mm, and my glass is 10mm thick

Why not just drive to Nerang & see the lovely people at Aquariums Alive.  That way you can see one running in a fish tank. No guessing then ah  :wink:
