These guys are wild caught "Ikola Blue Lightning" varient and I have 7 of them, all around 14cm, so far there are 2 definate males and I'm not sure about the others, but from venting am thinking at least 4 females  :D

these fish are just beautiful especially when u see them upclose and the new light u got doug makes them even better oh and just so u know the female fronnie has settled in nicely she seems happy with her new boy thanks for everything

Hi Guys

Thanks for the feedback, and glad to hear the girl has settled in well, Shaz. I've never had wild caught fish before and have had the wild caught fronnies for a couple of weeks now. I have them in an 8 x 2 x 2 tank along with a breeding colony 1m 5f of Copadichromis borleyi and a breeding colony of 11 Pseudotropheus acei "Tanzania".

Just a couple of observations :

They are nowhere near as skittish as I had expected from wild caught fish and have settled into the tank really well. In fact, they are far less skittish than the tank bred burundi frontosa previously in that tank.

They are far more active than tank bred fronnies I have had and are constantly on the move up and down, and around, top to bottom, you name it. Constantly exploring the tank.

They have very healthy appetites and are far more aggressive at feeding time than tank bred fronnies I have had. They actively compete with the mbuna in the tank for food.

All in all, I'm really happy with them so far. Now to get them breeding  :D  :D

Cheers, Doug
