Damn, didnt really want to get into this thread.... Especially since
its focus has changed from the original post, which (i think. Lol!) was
about how much $$ to offer for fish.  8O

Just have to say - Has anyone noticed the downhill slide of the english
language in forums? Spelling and grammer have gone down the drain, not sure why. Is it because there is no spell check? Is it because we now
rely to much on spell check when we do any other work, or is it just
because we are getting lazy?
Maybe the education system is letting us all down (is this a fair enough excuse for the younger ones amongst us??).

Oh well, off my soap box. Just interested in everyones thoughts on the matter.  :roll:

Unfortunately Steve there is some bad news for you and your generation.
According to the latest studies, the younger generation is becoming, for want of a better word, dummer.
There are a lot of theories around as to the cause of the problem, but Universities seem to have narrowed it down to 3 main causes.

1, As the younger generation started to become somewhat mentally deficient, Educators started to come up with new ideas to try and stimulate students with new programmes of learning. Unfortunately over the last few years it is becoming very evident that these programmes were totally useless, as the brain capacity of students started to diminish at an alarming rate.

2, It has also been said that pollutants in the atmosphere have played a great part in the damaging of the brain capacity of mainly the young. Heavy metals, Lead and the depletion of the Ozone Layer are all playing a part in the so called Moronization of the young.

3, Another factor that seems to be gaining some credence, is the relatively new idea, that we are running out of Good Gene Material. In other words we are interbreeding at an alarming rate. This is evident in various trials that have been done over the last few years by a Professor D Head from the University of Illinois (Yes the same illustrious University where a Dr J Pattel gained his degree). According to D Head, sorry I mean, Professor D Head, we are dangerously close to reversing evolution, and could, theoretically one day be swinging from the trees again.

A study has been done recently in SE Queensland, on a young fish enthusiast that goes under the Nom De Plume of "Tankbuster" no relation to the one on the "Other Forum". The damage that has been done to the brain of this poor individual has left him completely incoherent, and within 2 years could end up like a Jellyfish.

Sorry the news is not all that good Steve, but don't despair, apparently Scientists are of the opinion, that staring at a tank full of fish can reverse some of the effects of the 21st Century.

Yeah, I blame computers and high paying IT careers for taking the "geeks" out of the gene pool.... For instance, my mate was the dux of my year, but he hasnt got the time for ladies because he has too much study and work to do!!!!! What sane man has that sort of attitude???!!! 8O

Also, with that spelling and grammar comment, I blame msn messenger. It's so much easier on there to type u instead of you!!!! And yeah, sms also plays a strong part.

As to the original topic and the thread in question concerning a certain old farts fronny's (sorry, didnt want to name names :D ) I think I was the one who ignited the fuse. I guess alcohol does make me cocky :lol:

As for the english in here i went to school all the way to grad 11
And i still can't spell
Its not that the kids are getting dummer its the teachers not having the time to see who is missing out and they just don't give a rats ass!
Besides all you need these days is a laptop and a calculator
