You guys are missing the point.<
>Each to their own veiw fair enough... but..........<
>Isn''t fishkeeping more enjoyable when nature is left to do it''s own thing instead of interrupting the process.<
>By stripping before three weeks is not speeding up the process of the fry growing any quicker than if they were left with the mother holding them.<
>When we have a female that has only just spawned, she is removed from the
eeding tank and kept in a 3 foot tank by herself until she spits, she is then left in that tank until fry become free swimming, and fed substantially before reuniting into the original
eeding tank.<
>She will not starve herself or eat her young if left alone to do her own thing.<
>Therefore the fry don''t have to be captured for resale until approx. 3-4 months later, only the mother is removed.<
><
>all in all, just LEAVE YOUR FISH ALONE, AND DON''T STRIP THEM!!!!!!!!!!<

In regards to leaving the mother in the tank to release naturally, all I wanted were more details:<
>When she releases them do they re-enter her mouth after that regularly?<
>Or does the mum eat the kids if left too long?<
>After the fry are free swimming do you then remove the mum?<
><
>I don''t know as never tried it myself. <
