I found this on another australian fish forum posted by a moderator there.........thought I might just pass it on,wether its true or not I dont know..........<

and UV steriliser as UNSAFE. <

Ash<
><
>Can you please post the exact source of your information. <
><
>I cannot find any reference to this on the NSW Fair Trading site, the ACCC site or the Australia Government product recall site.<
><
>From what I can find, there has been no recall. <

Dyce

I bought one of these about 6months ago and only just hooked it up to my setup.<
><
>Is it every single one of these as I know AOA have a crapload of different types of proaqua uv sterilisers.<
><
>I know I have the Pro Aqua UVT-106. fish fish fish fish turkey fish fish gobble

ashhhh

I wouldnt have a clue dyce, but from the sound of things its all under investigation by the relevant partys, thats probably why it isn''t on any recall list, but I have asked for more info and ph numbers etc, I could post any replys regarding this topic here for you and others to read......as I said wether all this is true or not I dont know,Im just passing on some info I found<
>it may be prank or from an unhappy customer i dont know, but if more info comes available I will post it here....... <

Thanks for following that up Ash. I am concerned because I have one of these models. Unfortunately his response provides precious little and raises more questions.<
><
>First he says it relates to that entire
and, then he says its only one particular model.....<
><
>Quote:the only recall is the UVB-PL9 from AVK (PRO-AQUA - AQUA-PRO). <
><
>Secondly, I cant find it on the national list of recalled products????<
><
>Thirdly, if its the NSW Dept of Fair Trading thats made the recall, does it even apply here in QLD???????<
><
>I think he (and you) should be VERY careful how this is aired in public. Unfounded and/or incorrect statements can be very costly to these companies in lost sales and reputation. The last thing you or anyone else wants is to be sued for those losses.<
><
>Again, thanks for following it up.<
><
>Perhaps one of the sponsors here can clear this up. Surely they would be aware of any recall???<
><

There was something about the 9 watt  14 months ago, from what i can gather its still an on going thing.I have sold 30 or so of the Pro Aqua
and from the small up to 40 watts with no probs what so ever.I will check with the importer.

ashhhh

believe you me, im not trying in anyway, what so ever to defame any
and of UV sterilizer at all, I thought I would be doing the right thing by passing this warning on to anyone who wishes to read it, I have not personally stated that this product is falty but merely quoted what has been stated elsewhere, I do not see why someone would do this for fun and if I have made anyone uneasy about the product they have or are about to purchase I wont apologise as I am not directly responsible for the quoted text - whats that old saying?<
>- dont shoot the messenger..........this reply is by no means directed at anyone on this post, just clearing myself really.... Cheers<
