>can i place some shell dwellers with discus???<
><
>I know is sound stupid as discus need softwater and shell dweller need hard. But I had never adjusted the water parameter for my discus tank. I think the pH is around 7.4-7.8 for the discus tank. but will they good & survive????<
><

Aside from the water parameters issues......<
><
>while I dont have any experience with discus, shellies can be very aggressive, far more than their size indicates. <
><
>I probably wouldnt do it, but i guess it depends on the size of the tank too.<

Why not just put some Apisto''s or Rams in with the Discus?<
><
>There are a lot of different species available and they are just as interesting, most are more colourful and are totally compatable with regard water chemistry.<
><
>If you really want shellies why not set them up in a separate tank? doesn''t have to be a big tank.<

I''ve had discus freak out and jump up into the tank lids over a cranky platy, I wouldn''t be game to put shellies in.<
>Besides a discus tank temp would pretty much kill a tang unless shellies are somehow more robust in that respect.

when a 2foot tank is cheaper then 1 discus I think I know which root I''d take... fish fish fish fish turkey fish fish gobble
