DIY TANK - Glass Cut

I am just getting back into the hobby thought it might be a good idea and save a few bucks if I built my own tanks.

Rang a few glass places to see about getting glass cut to size and they want anywhere between $180.00 to $300.00 for 6 mm glass for a 900 *400 * 400 tank .

 Just wondering if anyone has built there own tanks and can point me in the right direction and tell me where you purchase your glass from, cause at this price the project is not worth doing.

alot of older buildings are replacing float glass in there windows with toughened glass. if you ask a window replacemnet company nicely they will generally give you the glass they take out.
