I now have 6 mainganos ranging between 6 -8 cms.  I have one definite male who is the largest and most colourful, hes very dominant.

My question is - Is there any obvious ways to sex these fish?

Two of them appear to have less black in their fins where the male fins are fully black.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a few colonies of these guys.
Great fish, I have always struggled to sex these fish.

All I can suggest is as the breed take out your Dominant male and any of the girls as they breed start anouther colony then add as the remainder breed...

I always open to any other ideas that someone else may have.
Regards,
John.

Thanks guys, that gives me a good start.  I definitely have one big beautiful male, now to work out how many females and how many lesser males.

Thanks
