just wondering which livebearer out of the ones below will produce the most fry <
><
>guppy<
>swordtail<
>molly<
>platy<
><
>my initial thought was the swordtail or molly because of their potential size but maybe the others spawn more often <

From personal experience biggest lot of Fry was from a Dalmation Molly female. 92.... Yes I counted  <
><
>Found that Guppies have the smallest amount out of the 4 with swordtails and platies been relativly similar. Thats just my experience though.<

i have about 15 large mollies, and i don''t ever seem to see really big spawns from them.<
>granted the tank has plenty of hidey spots, but i think that the bigger ones are just having a feed on them.<
><
>i found my guppies used to have considerable spawns, around 40 on average. Steven & Amy<

Swordtails produce the most fry.   The mothers are larger and fry are small like platies in comparison to the larger fry of guppies and mollies.<
><
>How ever swords are notorious cannibals and will eat as many of their babies as they can as the deliver them, so the resulting
ood is often less than the number actually born.<

I hate livebearers with a passion, apart from their random mortality rates, no matter how hard I tried when I had 5 mollies they never damn
ed, I had a big female that was huge for like 3 weeks in a fry saver, she never gave birth! But now gambusia... THose things are just crazy, accidently introduced 1 and now I have around 20 in my pond, alrught though, just scoop the babes from the top and use em as feeders, heres to hoping the cichlids in the pond grow abit and eat them all.<
><
>Although I think I might go for the chuck about 50 of them into a giant tub with
eeding mops etc, and let them do the work for a few months. fish fish fish fish turkey fish fish gobble

Carefull Dyce!!!!!<
><
>Gambusia in your ponds could cost you big dollars in fines and the loss of ALL your fish,,,Yes ALL your fish, whether there are gambusia in the tanks of not.<
