I bought a big garbage bag of filter wool at the last Gold Coast Auction and was wondering if anyone knew of where I could get some more (besides a pet shop!). My other half has turned cutting the stuff up for his filters into an obsession so I desperately need to replenish the stock

Thanks

im not sure but ive been told that you can use dacron(insulation) in the filters  havent tried it myself but if you can its a lot cheaper.  maybe someone on the forum could anser the question  can you use dacron in filters???  peter

raycam01_au

Most fabric shops have offcuts of dacron in huge bags cheap as, when i had all my tanks up and running 25+ they were all air driven and used dacron in all the corner filters no problems at all.
Hope this helps

The guy who supplies dacron at the auctions should be at the Bris auction on 22nd July.
