Have a look at the various gudgeons available. I have a bony snout, a snake head, and some common gudgeons and for such small fish (<15cm) they go off with feeders!<

>The Bony snout (Butis Butis) will flush gold and stalk them buy drifting sideways / hiding under leaves upside down / standing vertical / etc until he can get them. Then it all happens again.<
><
>The Snake head (unsure) is an ambush predator. Has a very big mouth for such a small fish. Looks like a rounder saltwater flathead. Bigger mouth to size ratio than my barra even I think.<

All 3 loaches still alive - just BGK gone.  I''d say he didnt get along with someone... oh well.  The toga I think is eating the pellets at night if I leave them floating there.  But I only see him eat crickets and bloodworm when I am there.  I was thinking about starting a cricket farm - has anyone done this?

i was just about to say that BGK won''t last too long in that tank.. then read down a little further to see he met his fate..<
><
>and yep
eeding crickets is easy but can get noisy :P

Gday<

>I hate to say it but in my experience that tnak sounds destined for disaster...! I think the tank will be a bit small for them all when they get larger and I think those clown loaches will be an expensive dinner! Of coure you might be lucky and have them all get along! Good luck with it all, oh I once had a red devil and an oscar in a tank with a 40cm local eel - both the red devil and the oscar used to take turns grabbing the eel by its head and yanking it through to their respective sides of the eggcrate patition in my 6'' tank. Im thinking maybe your GCK might have been sujected to a tug o'' war as well!<

I always fed my toga prawns from my local tackle shop. just be careful not to over feed.<
><
>You will probably have to change your mix of fish down the track as your toga gets bigger. they do get fairly massive and more aggressive with age.<
><
>I kept my toga in a 8x2x2 with a barra, sooty grunter and 2 salmon tail cat fish but in the end they out grew the tank.<
><
>Just a couple of tips, if you are going to keep a barra with toga the barra needs to be a touch bigger than the toga or it will get bashed! I would not recomend a barra for your sized tank unless you plan to upsize down the track.<
><
>Sootys are a awsome fish with loads of personality and they go well with togas. Just keep in mind that sootys are mean mean mean! However they are fairly type specific with their aggression.

Cheers for the tips bubbleman.  Just an update, the toga is now eating pellets (almost from my hand  ) and all fish seem happy.  The oscar originally had some fin damage from the toga but it has since grown back and all fish are well.  I think the toga learnt to eat the pellets by watching the oscar, now he loves them
