How do you take great pictures of your fish with a digital camera? Is it mainly to do with the camera you use or the adjustment of the camera?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

ashhhh

just try different angles with different mode settings, usually macro settings are the way to go, also with and without flash etc etc.

tip:  if your pics are too bright from the flash and your camera doesn't have any type of flash power control, try diffusing the flash by covering it with a piece of white paper to dull the intensity of the flash.

You can also get some pretty cool colour effects by using different coloured pieces of cellophane over the flash...

thats the beauty of digital cameras, being able to play around take heaps of shots and find what works best for you.

Oh and make sure your waters crystal clear and the tank glass is spotless :D

i've found using no flash and taking the photos at night time with the room lights off and the tank lights on works the best...
and use the multi shot function if your camera has it then just keep the good ones

just keep taking them, dont give up, just sit there and be determaned to get a good pic, and take like 300 and then go through and delete the ones you dont like, and you will get the perfect one sooner or later
eeping fish isnt just a hobby...............

Also if you can bring you tank lights to the front of the tank the light will be in between you and the fish instead of the side of the fish you are taking the pic of in shadow because the fish is in  bewteen you and the light.
Cheers Brian.
o harm in asking.

Perhaps you should post up some of the shots you've managed already, then we'll go from there.. plus the camera you're using aswell.

I use the manual focus feature on my camera and play around with shutter speeds.  I also turn the flash off.  :)
