As some of you will know
2 weeks back i got  white spot and lost most of my big breeders

Last night 1 of my young dolphins just went nuts and died

And now I'm losing my humpheads 1 or 2 a day
I'm adding twice the amount of cems to the water
But still it keeps hapning

So If I was you guys i would age your water first then treat it
And hopfully this won't happen to you

Well good luck

I dont even add neutraliser to my water, and it comes straight from the tap,,,,, lots of tangs, malawis, etc, i cant ever remember having whitespot, so all is good my way and i am not too far from you! you havent added new fish have you! or somethig similar, i am not sure if its your water, what sort of chems are you adding! and dont go to heavy handed with chems, can do more harm than good sometimes? Are you trying to buffer your water with chems, or is it the neutriliser and whitespot chems?? if you are adding heaps of this stuff roo you are probably stressing the fish out more!!! hope all gets better for you soon!!!

I was going to say the same thing, if the water is that bad then surely there would be a heap of posts with people having the same problem.

There is something wrong with what is happening to your fish. The way the young Dolphin died leads me to poisioning or it coped a blow from another fish.

Is your house old, as in your water lines may be contaminated? eg;Hot water taps are copper? I only use cold water tap. Anyone in your house using any sprays? Or your neighbours, as in pesticides in garden? How often do you water changes & how much water? How do you clean your filters? Is there a bully in the tank causing stress?

The thing is something isn't right, there could be just one thing going wrong, you have to go through or your steps & see what it is.

I have not got any new fish since the last auctions
And i only put neutraliser in my water and I don't use water from the hot water taps and i don't think there is much coper in my water because the snails are going ramped in my tanks

I have not sprayed any poisands in the house for agars
and I don't clean the filters  when i do a water change
That would be asking for trouble and I use a neutraliser with strescoat

so your gess is as good as yours

How often do you do water changes & how much of the water do you change?
How do you clean your filters?
Have you had the water tested at all?

Savage_roo

I do a water change on the growing fish once a week and on The biger fish every 2 weeks

I only take out about 20 lites form each tank witch is about 20% less on 6 foot
The filters are cleaned in there own water from the tank about midweek after a water change if they need it
I only clean the canister filters every now and than whan the water flow slows down
And I test for ph every 4 days of so i don't have a test kit for the rest

So do you have any other idears?

O ya the tanks arn't over crowed

Most houses use copper pipes in their  hot water systems
and copper can be toxic to fish

I think something may have happened to the water,
I just did a 50% water change on all my tanks, they get that every week, and in 3 hours, a whole tankful (~40 zebra danios) are dead, the other 5 tanks are fine, but all these guys are dead, their tank was topped up over about an hour, and their danios, they're supposed to be tough! The only thing I can think of is the water...
someone mentioned a while back that they were adding double chlorine, is that true?

here fishie fishie

Did you dechlorinate the water? Was the water going into the tank the same ph? 50% of water at a different ph, will shock your fish.

Tabbycat

Yes the councel has doubled the chlorine in the water because it is so low to make it ok for us to drink. Times like this i am glad I use rain water
