just wondering how big the biggest goldfish you have ever seen? i caught one once in a creek in toowoomba around 40cm long and 20cm high and very fat and heavy. it was a lot bigger (in weight) then one they showed on tv as the worlds biggest goldfish. unfortunetly it didnt eat at all and eventually died about 2 months later. any other big ones around?

yeah that sounds more like a biig carp... (carp is goldfish) but carp is more ferral i think, and there are tonnes in our waterways, but ive seen some fairly big ones, saw one 46cm in a river out west...massive

it was bright orange so it was obviously a goldfish that some one let go. yer ive seen the carp too, their just wild gold fish pretty much, gone back to their wild colours.

so that thing u caught was orange, that would have been a strange sight, were the waters clear or fairly clean, cause usualy the carp in dirtier waters are alot more brown then they are orange

I had a group of 3 in a 4ft tank that i grew up from juveniles. The biggest one reached 28cm i thought that was huge. Sold them to a LFS the guy initially thought i was trying to sell him Koi until he took a closer look and saw they were actually goldfish.
