My meeli have just emerged with a large fry ball and to top it off i just witnessed my eretmodus spawning for the second time.
i got some cool photos on my phone so ill have to figure out how to post them.
im over the moon i only have a few of the last spawn left s i had an unfortunant acciddent with a breeder net suction-cap.
hope all goes awesome. 2 spawns in one week isnt too bad i guess :)

congrats on the babies, hope they keep going for ya.

thanks, i hope they all survive, i have never seen a fish spawn like that before.
the eggs were bright yellow and huge!!! they were about 4mm across and she ate about 20 of them.
the male picked up two at the end cause the female couldnt hold anymore so i dont know whats going to happen now?

quick update on the progress, the meeli are looking after their babies very well and i counted 37 of them.  the female eretmodus is holding her babies still which is a good sign, i dont know wether i should let the male spit naturally this time or catch him and strip the babies?
anyway im happy the tank is looking good and the water must be fine if things are breeding.
ill keep all posted, Matt

ps i measured one of the eretmodus babies the other night and they are at 1.7cm they are eating flake now so they should start growing quicker.

G'day Matt,

I remove my caudo fry from the parents tank by simply siphoning them into the grow out tank.  I don't seem to lose too many, if any, by using this method.

Have to started to keep a list of people wanting to buy your eretmodus fry?  If so, please add me to the list.

Cheers
Neil

the list is always growing, they musnt be very common in the cichlid keeping world.
i told my eretmodus parents to hurry up so we can keep up with demand.
i have a few that will be ready by christmas time so ill try get some picks and progress photos.
