Hi, new to the forum, but by no means new to fish keeping, just a have a few questions to ask. :)

I've got a 6x2x2 tank on the way and an external filter capable of doing 1300 ltrs an hour. No gravel or other accessories yet.

I have a baby red devil with a few convicts and a couple of bristlenoses to populate the tank so far but plan to get a few other fish along the way.

Now I've housed Devils, Jags, Oscars and others before successfully but I'm keento find out what sorts of other different fish will keep with these guys.

Also, with the filter I've got, will it be enough with these types of fish ( they can be bloody messy haha) or should I use 1 or 2 internal filters as well.

Never been too fussed about gravel types but the other day in one of the lfs a lady told me about some different sort of gravel that was a bit healthier for cichlids. (Been a long time since I owned a tank).

Last but not least, anyone got any general advice for setting up a tank this big. Anything you've got would be quite helpful.

Cheers, Scotty.

hey, i replaced my substrate not long ago with calcuim carbonate all in one hit, it didnt bother the fish at all. just made the water a little cloud for a day or so. i know its not coral sand but im sure it would be similar to CC. As of ur fish moving the coral it wont bother them they should do it fine with no dramers well mine do. my fronnies move my CC around all over the place.

Cheers
