What sort of rocks are you looking for Sam ???<
><
>River rocks are by far the most natural for underwater landscapes.<
><
>If you are thinking of those redish
own weather worn/wind eroded "Woomera" rocks,  they are almost a thing of the past, protected in a national park, their collection is now illegal and if available anywhere you will pay black market prices. The few I have I have owned for 20 years or more and are treasured dearly.<
><
>Gravel yards, landscape suppliers, and rock suppliers are another source. But, again, interesting specimins are not cheap.<
><
>I saw some
illiant "Jade in matrix" rocks not long back in a gravel yard at Morayfield.  But at $10/kg.   Could just about buy pure jade at that price.<
><
>It is getting to the stage where we will have to follow the landscape gardeners and make artificial rocks.<
><
>Alan. When life gives you lemons ask for a bottle of tequila & salt.<
>The only danger I find in life is to take too many precautions. Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.<

Cement rocks are the new way to go if you have the effort. Either that or drive 10 hours to sydney for some limestone. fish fish fish fish turkey fish fish gobble

Got 4 Big Ass bits today cost me $25. Nice holes in 3 other is just big and massive. Im happy with them. Would around 12-18 kg for the 4. They are quite big. Plan on getting some other types so will let you know what I find.<

4 - 5kg is a big assed rock? lmao, I placed 2 rocks in my 6 x 2 x 2 B\N tank the other week that required both my girlfriend and I to lower them in the tank, (35 - 40kg each) they do look quite nice, red cavey, holes and crevices type of volcanic rock.<

hi guys, what about the black smooth rocks you find on the beach, are they safe to put in a malawi/tang tank?

Dead Fish Floating

Yea the red ones from the beach are safe.....  but not for marine. Metalic ores are a no no there.
That said I just make my own, check out the garf page for a run down.
DOn't be too fazed on the pH leaching stuff, the perfect rock is worth it.
